Hollywood Video Game Kill-Bot - Night

Image
California based one man band "Hollywood Video Game Kill-Bot" has released a new unique track titled "Night" In the latest single, the artists brings his experience of producing digital music to make a funky, catchy piece of electronic music. The catchy beat is fast tempo, and work well with the soft, ambient trance vibe of the instrumentation. You'll find yourself getting into it without realising.  Dynamically, the track stays rather similar throughout, It doesn't build much instrumentally, However, this cleverly creates a haunting, dystopian, alternative atmosphere, that brings originality and free spirits to the table. The intriguing song has an airy, almost alien style that bounces from ear to ear, similar to one of Hollywood Video Game Kill-Bot's previous songs "Feel Ready" drawing the listener in and leaving them eager, on the edge of their seats. H2SO4 - Telepathic

Image
H2SO4 - Telepathic This electronic track is most definitely a very interesting concept, and one that will be sure to provide H2SO4 with results. "Telepathic" creates a soundscape filled with strong influences of electronic music and alt dance instrumentation, the final product is a bewitching single bathed in individuality and uniqueness.  The main digital rhythm running the song is a real earworm, It has a catchy old school video game feel; it wouldn't feel out of place in mega man or sonic.  The vocals have a soft, smooth, trance vibe to them, which allow the listener to experience both sides of the track. The funky, original music, as well as the tranquil but still prominent vocals. Another way to put this would be to explain that the vocals are 'not too overpowering' whilst remaining a base feature of the track. "Telepathic" is a perfect mix of experience and newness, it showcases a genre that is yet to be mainstream discovered. This allo

C.LACY - Don't Wanna See You

Image
C.LACY is releasing a track titled "Don't Wanna See You" on 6/11/21! Unrequited love, or at the very least attraction, is something that we're all familiar with. A painful longing, a pining even, that rarely, if ever, works out in our favour. And though no-one could say that the troubles of the heart are any fun, there's no way they could argue about the love driven music they give birth to. "Don't Wanna See You" is no exception. The easy listening 2 minute track is full of uplifting, stunning harmonic vocals and instrumentation, complementing the rhythmic, unique, smooth vocals of C.LACY. Gently mounting across its runtime, it's a steady and gentle progression. One bolstered by the subtle introduction of the ethereal beat. Airy and ephemeral, it strengthens as the song progresses, bolstered in turn by its narrative of realising you've spent too long focusing on one person.  Check out C.LACY on Instagram  here Also, be sure to tak

I Walk You Into The World - Pietro Cottone

Image
Pietro Cottone has released a new meaningful single titled "I Walk You Into The World" An adventure of different musical styles, and heartfelt lyrics, this song is very diverse and smooth. The self produced track "I Walk You Into The World" starts with a contemporary classical piano face, before leading into an energetic upbeat pace. Enfused with a reassuring infectious rhythm, the song keeps the listener intrigued well, whilst also highlighting problems that are unfortunately still present today. "Race, skin colour, origin, religion" The song highlights hate, discrimination, bringing a powerful message with the song, that makes the song unique. The music video alongside the song is cinematic and engaging, showing people of different backgrounds join together, whilst being oppressed, the video's message will be relatable to a wide variety of people, furthering the sense of belonging the song already strongly holds. Tom Gorsich ft. Jason Brownlow - Dancing With a Demon

Image
Tom Gorsich has released an incredible track titled "Dancing With a Demon" alongside a cinematic music video, watch it  here A composition which ponders the overwhelming confusion and guilt we can feel when faced with grief of a relationship. That's of course my interpretation, the song is open to wide variety of listeners as the lyrics could be seen in many different ways the listener relates to the best. Sent from a haunting place of Darkness, "Dancing With a Demon" sets a new face of dynamic pop-rock tracks. With a wide variety of instrumentation styles, it's hard to pinpoint the track as a genred song. I'd call it a perfect blend of commercial style pop and alternative rock.  Leaning hard into an ambient influence, it's uplifting drum thumps carry the song with mysterious vibes throughout.  Combined with the thick layering of unique instruments and multiple vocal deliveries over the top just adds to the mystique of it.

Sawyer Presents - Happy Hour

Image
"Sawyer" is a 4 man dive bar band from Philadelphia, PA. While performing Friday night cover songs at a popular Northeast Philadelphia dive bar, "Benny the Bums", they were discovered by the New Jersey based independent record label, Dope Hitz Entertainment. Now releasing a debut album... titled "Happy Hour" Beginning with a powerful new offering, the opening track is filled with upbeat, groovy guitar licks that climb and weave through the track.  The signature honey vocals are strong, this release features a stronger sense of catharsis - especially in vocal performance and lyrical content. Bluesy and melancholic in sound, yet beautifully empowering in its instrumentation and meaningful vocals, this album is one of self discovery and reflection. It could have been easy for the band to fall into full pastiche here. Instead, they succeed in combining the band's own personality with more the typical confections of the genre, resulting in songs

Da Mind - Beautiful

Image
Da Mind releases a powerful new album titled "Beautiful" Armed with a catchy, complex beat, the signature wordplay from Da Mind glows with attitude and gives the track that extra edge needed to fulfill a perfect hiphop style song.  It's a chill, soft tone that you can bop your head to, with the groovy rhythmic vocals and unique instrumentation. The abstract structure of the track feels original and the repetition, is mesmerising and draws the listener in even more.

APRICITY - All My Lies

Image
Months after bursting out onto the music scene without so much as a warning, Scottish-born, Puslinch, Ontario-based singer/songwriter Apricity has released her debut single and video, the alt-rock extravaganza, “All My Lies” — available now. The Puslinch-based powerhouse first released the five-minute track back in October along with a spooky music video, which was directed by Jesse Read of Dropout Entertainment and Toronto Creative; the enchanting song and accompanying short film has already amassed more than 120,000+ streams across platforms — including 80,000+ on YouTube alone. Sonically, the immediate smash-hit covers ground from alternative music to pop, over to rock and then back to indie. Though it might seem like a darker song, given its moody lyricism, it’s an easy one to tap your feet and sing along to. Produced by Thomas McKay, “All My Lies” genuinely offers the listener a healthy variety of sounds — really good ones, on that note. Apricity herself says the dir

Sky Roberson - My Fantasy

Image
Sky Roberson releases a new single "My Fantasy" The melodic complexity of the tune is intertwined with a groovy 80's backing feel. This brings an almost classical sense to the song.  The genre-mashing effort draws you in and keeps you hooked until the end. I would almost describe it as hypnotic... Imagine yourself sat in a New York bar, on a summer evening, this is the type of song the band would be playing. It's bright and melodious, yet it retains that echoing reverb aspect, giving us the cool synth pop experience so synonymous with previous decades, it holds a true nostalgic sense. The muffled feel jazzy telecaster sounding guitar keeps the song fulfilled, working perfectly alongside the accompanying slowpaced drums, that keep you grooving for the entire listen. Christopher The Grey - If I Didn't Have You

Image
Fusing together modern rap, hip-hop, and spoken word poetry, Christopher The Grey releases "If I Didn't Have You" The eerie concoction of hypnotic composition and addictive melodies sets the track as having original characteristics. Building up only slightly with synths and additional choral harmonies and delays, the narrative is like an opiate to the ears. Intriguing, soothing, groovy. The exploration of love in modern songwriting is key to the tracks signature sound and perfection.  The real genius in the sound is how it has been taken and wrapped into a distinctly modern, but still nostalgic sound.  This upholds a great sense of structure whilst simultaneously maintaining the rawness that gives it such charm.  Check out Christopher the Grey on instagram  here

Sean Waterman - Devices

Image
Sean Waterman is set to release a new 9 track album titled "Devices" The album begins with "Rules" The track is introduced with a warm and nostalgic feel. (A perfect song to begin the album) Easing in with an easy listening chord progression, it brings melody and melancholy to the song.  The 2nd track is "Bodies"  Flooding with emotion, the simple message of the lyrics make the meaning all the more powerful.  It holds an ethereal, mysterious quality, especially in the moments of harmony. It's a steady and gentle progression, that eventually becomes increasingly heavier and complex as it goes on.  - "Devices" - the 3rd track on the album, begins with a tranquil, fulfilling, acoustic feel ballad style.  This eventually cresends into an upbeat performance, with the introduction of electronic instrumentation and incredibly fast paced beats.  This immediately changed my original expectations of the song, not in a bad way. It's uniq

Misha Kolesoski - A Year on Mars & A Year on Mercury

Image
"A Year on Mars" is part of a double album "A Year on Mercury" and "A Year on Mars" - A cheeky way of saying "2 years in hell."  Songwriter and composer Misha Kolesoski started writing these songs shortly after his wife of 29 years sadly passed away. The album cover is a picture of her. Beginning with an ambient track, "Vassals" introduces "A Year on Mars" Influenced by a range of genres including electronic, lo-fi, and neo soul to name a few "Vassals" is a great introductory piece of art.  The 2nd track is "Enter A Plea" (Feat Niobe Morales" While the track is situated around playful instrumentation, the subject matter behind the single is complex.    Lyrically analysing life strategies that we employ everyday, the Indie feel female vocals are hauntingly unique and contrasts massively with the background instrumentation which includes some synth feel, minor key electronic music.  One track

Jakob Drummond - Alone

Image
California based Alternative singer-songwriter "Jakob Drummond" releases "Alone" With an already impressive back catalogue of dystopian alternative tracks, Jakob Drummond has summoned once again, certainly alive with the raw Rock'n'roll feel, the guitar-slinging punch.  "Alone" is the latest release that sees Jakob dive deeper into the land of complex ear-shattering, powerful, electric guitar riffs. The atmosphere hits you like a Metal brick and cements the foundations of what's to come.  As soon as the vocals are introduced, you know you're in for a treat. They aren't overdone with reverb or delay, they just perfectly compliment the already blazing instrumentation.  The complex, prominent drum beats are solidly driven with a pumping steady flow. The unique style of rhythmic lyricism is a large factor that sets "Alone" apart from other songs of this style. It adds a sense of originality and authenticity.  This expe

Chaos1.0 - Kayo's Day: A Mixtape

This 11 track album begins with "Kayo" Beginning with a tranquil piano introduction, it really sets the scene for the rest of the song and the instrumentation. It is coated with moments of solitude yet reassurance, 'Kayo' doesn't dynamically shift much. It keeps the upbeat, fastpaced vibe throughout. Next up is "All the Time" Vocally consciously following the beat and uses rhythmical lyrics to get the point across of feeling agitated. It stands out from the ground by using mainstream rap alongside a sort of 'alternative' soundscape. Open to interpretation, lyrically, 'All the time's seems to have a personal message to its core.  Armed with distinctive beats that will you jiving away wherever you're listening to it, the overall track is human. "All the time" seems to be the most popular

Realmannyg - UNIVERSE 4

Image
Taking on the world of pop and delving into EDM textures, Music Producer Realmannyg releases "Universe 4" Accompanied with glossy synth chords, similar to his other song AFTERLIFE, the upbeat rhythm leads the track's introduction. Growing in texture with on-the-beat clicks and ticking, the foreseeable build-up looms with an anticipated air. The climax of the build-up makes way for the main sections of the track, which is ambient, and overwhelmingly polished. It feels tidy with a commanding stance, it creates a clean aesthetic sound. The textures used in Universe 4 stay within the typical realms of pop and EDM, so the tracks direction becomes quite predictable. However it still carries a sense of uniqueness and originality. TrishDiscord - Strife

Image
About the 2016 election where Donald Trump won, TrishDiscord releases "Strife" - worried about losing hope with trump winning the election in 2016. A swirling, whirling, crushing collision of pop balladry, and full throttle electronic. Deep, powerful lyrics accompany the upbeat music as the music embarks on a journey through a myriad of influences to a destination that could easily fit onto a pop edm record. I hear Skream in places, the ability to utilize lo-fi dub and explode it outwards into music that can physically shake your body to the core.  In this case, 'Strife' gives you that without ever losing the pop sensibilities that make "Little Fire Dancer" as much of a pop-banger as it is a dramatic, and theatrical piece of electronic music. The track resides in an early 2000's nostalgic production, surely impressing the listeners with real, prominent vocals.  Presave "Strife"  here

The Tiger Moths - The Wind In Your Sails

Image
The 5 piece "Americana Inspired Rock Band" From London "The Tiger Moths" are releasing a track titled "The Wind In Your Sails" Tomorrow!  Surely destined to be a dreamy indie altpop staple - the track opens with flowing instrumentation and moody verse vocals. There is a powerful, yet tranquil switch of falsetto with the introduction of the stunning harmonic vocals later in the song. It's a chilled groove, but there's a beautiful melodic melancholy about this track - a sentimental longing for something or someone that once was - and fiercely trying to get back to or recreate those joyful moments. It features a sense of indie-folk amongst the midst of the alt rock main genre, it gives you the typical folk sense of isolation, with the subconscious promise of return.  It's a mellow, dreamy, bedroom pop song (with a dollop of soul) It's smooth, yet bittersweet.  Out Tomorrow! 15th May. https://linktr.ee/TheTigerMoths

Sandy T - if u believe

Image
Sandy T has released a beautiful new bluesy song titled "if u believe" I would describe the song as an excellent display of 70's blues style music. "if u believe" employs an impressive array of instrumental and vocal styles to create a certain ‘dream sequence’ quality to the piece. Opening with an upbeat bluesy beat, the listener is transported to a booth in some backstreet night club on a rainy evening. Sleazy or sophisticated?  With tranquil piano and crooning vocals, this lulling soulful scene fades into an echoey haze. In an instant – we’re hit with a loud and fun, upbeat groove. If we were dreaming in black and white before – this just went full technicolor. With powerful licks and melodic backing vocals – this pick up of the pace provides an unexpected twist.. The energy is punctuated with intricate guitar and fading smooth vocals. Take a listen to if u believe  here

Tim Brummet - The Music Just Played On

Image
With "The Music Just Played On", Tim Brummet slaps you directly in the face with classic rock feel, beautiful, ambient guitar!  The song is backed with a bass and drum section that wouldn't feel out of place in any original country-rock song! It's embracing and I'm sure many will be emotionally connected to the strong heartfelt lyrics. This is the song I believe will become Tim Brummet fans favourite.  The mastered melodies with slick instrumentation rings throughout the harmonic track. I feel the vision of this song came from mixing an element of surrealism with the idea of image and perception.  The song is aweinspiring and offers young listeners a chance to be introduced to an original style of music but with a modern twist.

The signature melody-driven guitars open the track and straight away you're in for an indie pop ballad treat. "Let's Go Out Dancing" is hard to name as a genred song, as it's hard to name artists you can hear in the track. Its very unique and classic.

Son of Stone - Don't break me down

It is aweinspiring and expresses the artist's feelings seamlessly  Beginning with an ambient electric introduction, it sets the scene for the rest of this intriguing rock track. More instrumentation is eventually introduced, leading the song into a heavy, action packed, complex track. The main vocals are very powerful, work well with the track and keep the heavy rock-pop feel of "Don't break me down" The drum beats are incredibly complex and work as a perfect foundation of a usual rock song with massive potential.  Influences of classic band Nirvana are prominent in this track, especially with the love-driven rhythmic lyrical style. - Unfamiliar listeners would be forgiven for making assumptions as if it was Nirvana! However with &q

Sugar Addikt - Shackles

Image
Today we are featuring a new single "Shackles" which is part of Sugar Addikts new album "Phoenix" Fiery, electronic and filled with contempt, this track begins with maddening energy. In just 3 minutes Sugar Addikt gives us a cathartic release of raw emotion. Kicking off with spine tingling instrumentation, alongside electronic synths, there is some interesting and intriguing switches between soundscapes. On the one hand a swaggering indie-rock vibe with epic and particular meaning but also a strike of alt pop with the addition of synths. A particular sound setting holding an almost otherworldly theremin quality. The vocals are punchy and filled with tranquillity, but also clear and seemingly strong. There is a cleansing feeling to the track, a vent of feelings that can't stay bottled up. Take a listen  here

Drifters in Vellichor - The Shadow

Image
Cali band "Drifters in Vellichor" have released a new single titled "The Shadow" This isn't clean indie, nor is it your stereotypical garage rock, nor is it well, anything in particular. I love bands who you can't really find a tag for, I guess "Alt-Rock" works, but that'd be a disservice to them. It's MORE! The track itself is ambient and great, the band clearly have the rock sensibilities and know how to make music that instantly grabs the attention and intrigues the listener. It also doesn't come across as "too polished" or too mechanical. It is dynamic, bass and guitar fighting and stepping back to allow heavy powerful vocals to take the centre stage. It feels DIY, not because it is in any way lacking of anything, but because it feels genuine. It makes me imagine what kind of live band these guys are, and I'm gonna guess that "Drifters in Vellichor" are a must-see band. Be sure to take a listen to

Amari Mar - Grand Rising

Image
Today we will be reviewing "Amari Mar"'s new album "Grand Rising" The first track on this upbeat hiphop album is "Grand Rising" - This begins with a nostalgic brass instrumental intro that leads into the uplifting, fast verses. "Grand Rising" is the perfect intro track, setting the scene for the rest of the album. Rayne - Rambo

Image
New York based rapper "Rayne" has released a new track titled "Rambo" This track begins with a tranquil but powerful introduction that slowly cresends and exposes the listener to a wide variety of musical and vocal styles. Lyrically very fast paced - and clear. It's hard to do this, Rayne is a natural rapper. She's very rhythmic and holds great upbeat vibes. The backing beat is repetitive however it isn't a bad thing, it's very engaging and intrusive of the music. The heavy bass filled instrumentation isn't found very often in new music, so it adds a sense of uniqueness to "Rambo" This track ends dramatically and it makes the listener want to hear more...
