Sean Waterman - Devices

Sean Waterman is set to release a new 9 track album titled "Devices"

The album begins with "Rules"

The track is introduced with a warm and nostalgic feel. (A perfect song to begin the album)

Easing in with an easy listening chord progression, it brings melody and melancholy to the song.

The 2nd track is "Bodies"

Flooding with emotion, the simple message of the lyrics make the meaning all the more powerful.
It holds an ethereal, mysterious quality, especially in the moments of harmony.

It's a steady and gentle progression, that eventually becomes increasingly heavier and complex as it goes on.

"Devices" - the 3rd track on the album, begins with a tranquil, fulfilling, acoustic feel ballad style.

This eventually cresends into an upbeat performance, with the introduction of electronic instrumentation and incredibly fast paced beats.

This immediately changed my original expectations of the song, not in a bad way. It's unique and original - and showcases Sean's willingness to experiment with different musical styles and genres.

The next track really caught my attention - "Zero Hour"

Complex with altpop influences, "Zero Hour" is completely effortless. Oozing with talent out of every crack, the vibrant number is bathed in bold textures.

It upholds a confident feel and illustrates Sean's vivid personality.

The 5th track is "Swerve"

Entering with calming vocals that chime through a hazy production, 'Swerve' is a colourful single that shines through an indie pop atmosphere.

Hinged on airy guitars... the perfect accompaniment to those first tentative touches of spring.

"Don't let me down"

Surreal, incessant, and vital, but in a way that feel's futuristic and forward thinking.
It's a delicacy of a song, the type that becomes very easy to lose oneself in.

The classic rock instrumentation works perfectly with the 80's feel radio vocals.

The complex guitar riffs set this track as a purposeful, focussed, well crafted song.

This leads wonderfully into the tune "Easy"

Understated, and awash in a sea of hazy instruments, and backbone by crisp percussion, "Easy" harbours a very airy aesthetic. One that succeeds in evoking a wistful sense of nostalgia while feeling completely contemporary.

It feels much more laid back, with lot's to fall in love with.

The second to last song is "Blue"

Following a similar vibe to the previous track, "Blue" is a calming ballad that begins the outro of the album.

Perfectly executed and a captivating arrangement, this sentimental number will easily brighten any bad day, Walking upon familiar ground yet making it his own, Sean's song "Blue" is highly addictive and refreshing.

The last track is "Flatline"

Armed with an innovative vocal tone that will leave you wanting more, "Flatline" is equipped with all the necessities you need for an alternative, love driven pop song..

Number one - Tell your story with passion.

Number two - Use music to explain your thoughts that life throws at us.

and Number three - Create intimate music that refuses to be "labelled" or "genred" to a specific degree.

Sean's new album journeys through that unique layout perfectly.

"Devices" will be out on June 18.
