Lee Rixson - Broken Love

With Lee Rixson, the boundaries that separate different styles and genres from each other become quite blurry. Lee brings together elements from Lo-Fi, Jazz, Blues, Tropical House, Pop, R&B, EDM, Soul, and every other style you can think of to create an eclectic, unique, and original style that is hard to replicate by any other. Lee Rixson is one artist that loves to explore and refuses to be constricted by artificial artistic boundaries like styles, forms, and genres. For Lee, "eclecticism" and "versatility" are the watchwords.

The track commences with an eighteen second intro that sets the tone for the vocal line. The vocal color is clean and emotive; seamlessly synchronizing with the smooth vibe of the instrumental accompaniment. The subtle layering of ambient backing vocalizations adds a creative flare and depth to the overall sound without detracting from the lyrical prominence.

The steady beat, keys and foundational bass combine to form the perfect platform for the vocal. The instigation of an instrumental solo from around 1:50, leading into the outro that features stylistically effected vocals, delivers just the right amount of dynamic diversity to ensure that this single is engaging from start to finish. By the time ‘Broken Love’ draws to a close, you’ll find yourself humming along with the catchy hook and in need of hitting that repeat button for another listen.
