Patrick Noel Russ - Rise Up

California based "Patrick Noel Russ" releases a 4 track EP titled "Rise Up"

The opening track is titled "I Can Take You"

Beginning with a lively, upbeat indie-rock introduction, the track immediately forces the listener to start grooving along and tapping their feet to the beat. The funky, complex bassline that radiates throughout the entire song, works perfectly alongside the tranquil yet prominent percussion. The layered vocals are incredibly atmospheric and have a 'happy' nature in the major keys.

The 2nd track is titled "Hero"

The bluesy/jazzy brass introduction adds a whole new range of depth to the EP's soundscape, so far. As the track progesses, the vibe twists and unfolds multiple times, in multiple ways to ensure the interesting elements are never lost. The genius wordplay, "you are a hero, you wear it well" is not only meaningful, but can also be open to personal interpretation from the listener, creating a subconscious bond between the song and listener.

Next is: "Out Here"

From the very moment the fast paced acoustic chord progression opens the track, you're transported to a calming, melancholic world, accompanied by angelic backing vocals and a cinematic, first-class production. The lyricism further proves that Patrick Noel Russ is a genius when it comes to wordplay, fitting the instrumentation harmoniously. The lull in the intensity towards the end eventually fades, leading into the finale track:

"All I Need to Be"

This action packed, positive thinking track is bound to get you smiling, with your eyes closed, thinking forward. It's the perfect mild evening car ride track, thanks to the easy listening vibe radiated by the reverbful vocals and catchy chorus. "All I Need to Be" and the EP is so motivational, and truly makes you want to "Rise Up".  This type of music is awe-inspiring and refreshing, in a modern world drowned out by modern pop.
