Pete Gustard - Battlefield Ballet

Taking inspiration from a wide variety of genres, Pete Gustard releases an 11 track album tilted "Battlefield Ballet"

01 - From The Upper Branch

The introduction of acoustic and electric working together is something not found much in music nowadays, so it's quite refreshing to hear this track, alongside the smooth, powerful and clear vocals. It unfolds throughout with complexity and depth, keeping you intrigued until the 2nd track.

02 - Celebration Isolation

Brass instrumentation radiates around the track, along with a unique soundscape consisting of an almost ska like beat, with bouncy chords and maraca percussion. It truly bursts with creativity from the start, and engages with the listener.

03 - The 14th Of July

With more modern styles being introduced in this 4 minute track, it doesn't fail to appeal to a wider range of audiences, which is great for Pete and developing his fanbase. The vocals follow a blinding light style of electronic effect, yet the instrumentation still hints to a classic song formation for the most part, it's a great mix.

04 - Ballad Of Injustice

The beginning of ambience and traditional sounds truly change your feel and expectations of the album. The cinematic nature could easily fit in a movie or far cry game. It bursts with originality, with the action packed soundscape of bells, deep percussion, and electric licks.

05 - #NotForever

The reverbful, airy vocals point to a softer, tranquil song at first, until the deep bass bangs through your chest, drawing you in with suspense, for a while until the happier vibe is reintroduced, urging you to tap your feet to the beat.

06 - Wake Up

I'm in love with aweinspiring modern twists that Pete gives to his tracks, it truly showcases his aforementioned uniqueness and creativity as a musician. This track follows an instrumentation pattern that isn't too rare, yet the first class production and slightly electronic rests at the start give it a new twist.

07 - In The Daylight

The pictorial imagery given off by this song is truly something else, it immerses you in a world that can only be imagined. It brings you on a listening experience, an adventure, it's not just a song.
It never gives any moments of downtime and keeps you interested constantly.

08 - Career Choices

The song seems to take inspiration from many different styles of rock, from early 2000's indie rock to 1980's funk/punk rock. A complex chord progression acts as the foundation for this headbop, bringing you on a nostalgic ride.

09 - My Quiet Hour

One of the most upbeat tracks of this album, the real life effects, for example the ambient sirens, add so much range and realism to the song. The crazy combination of all the instruments add together to make this super fun track.

10 - The Beauty of Mind

This track is only 2 minutes long, yet it doesn't stop making you groove and bounce throughout with the deep bass and dj rips. "Life is what you make it" is narrated with text to speech voices, which explains the name of the song. "The Beauty of Mind".

 11 - Project Eject

This song is the finale track, that brings the 45 minute album to a close, yet it doesn't end the track with the usual quiet, boring stop. It ends with fashion and drama, with stunning harmonies and catchy electric riffs taking the spotlight.
