Meet Pipcharlie; the versatile artist inviting you to express yourself.
The 16 year old rapper based in Canada deals in a mix of sound- from Lofi, boombap, yet unconventional bars (like in Dimpled Girl’s Smile) to the loud, spazz on the beat, aggressive bars (like on Okay!). He is also an activist in his very own, voicing his opinions on religious violence, family dysfunction and racism. Also touching on heartbreak, depression and the sadness that seems somewhat cliche in this day of music. However, his style is more unique and genuine- pointing to stories that seem you’d only know if you were there, but still telling them with the narrative air that still paints him in the positive light- he doesn’t care. His non-chalant attitude still hovers in his music; his vocals seeming like they’re coming from a drunk, drowsy man.
Recently, he dropped his long-awaited heartbreak story mixtape- sadboys. A project that he says describes the heartbreaks that he and his inner circle somewhat simultaneously experienced in the last year. Interesting to say was the stand out song- After ALL! A song that do euphoric in all senses, from the beat to the hook and most especially the daunting lyrics. He hilariously points out to the mystery girl that through everything they had been through, he had simply bot gotten over it and she would still be his. In a way that seems possessive, he still points out the flaws of the girl saying “hell is where they found you” but maybe, he feels, that’s just who he deserves?
