Chaos1.0 - Dawn: Kayo's EP
American actor and musical artist, "Chaos1.0", or "Kayo" releases a new EP, "Dawn: Kayo's EP"
The first track on this 15 minute EP is "Roman Candles"
Taking inspiration from a wide variety of genres, and bringing a modern twist to nostalgic hip hop, this track immediately draws you in with the powerful fast paced lyrics, and although it's only a short EP introduction, at 1 and a half minutes long, it still is an integral part of the listening experience.
The 2nd track is titled "Front Page" ft. CFO Hustle
It begins with a cinematic section, with melodies radiating around the soundscape, until the track starts to twist and unfolds once the main vocals enter. From then, they truly take center stage with slight reverb and delay ensuring the production feels first class. The featured artist "CFO Hustle" also enters the spotlight with his own rhythmic verses.
Next is "Horizon"
In a similar fashion to the previous track, "Front Page", the song begins with a quieter, soft, coffeehouse section, before eventually cresending into the main style throughout. The vocals and lyrics feel chilled, relaxed and laid back, that works perfectly with the softer - almost lo-fi - inspired instrumentation. Towards the end of the track, it comes to a short instrumental fade.
The 4th track is an upbeat fulfilling 1 minute interlude, titled "Fed Up", that leads you into the 2nd to last song, "Wild"
This track, brings a whole new feel to the EP, with slow paced guitar, and complex percussion making up the majority of the backing beat. As a whole, it holds a more raw, live vibe, with unedited vocals showcases the artist's true vocal performance, by not overwhelming them with the instruments.
The finale is titled "The Comeback"
In most songs that are 4 minutes long, the listener loses interest eventually and is likely to skip, however this couldn't be further from the case with this song, that constantly bursts with originality and strength with new elements and featured vocals from Lil C, proving Chaos1.0's willingness to experiment. The meaningful narrative and aforementioned nostalgic feel ensure the listener will be impacted and will remember the song and EP.

What got you into music?
I've been a fan of the arts my whole life. At a young age I learned that music is a very immersive medium. I definitely feel like I've bonded with certain songs growing up. Going into my sophomore year of high school, I took notice that my cousins were creating their own music. It inspired me to try my hand at the craft. These passed four years, my goal has been to recreate those immersive feelings.
When did you release your first song?
My first release was actually a collab mixtape with CFO Hustle titled, "The Differences", my sophomore year of high school (2017). It's a lost file now, but the first song I recorded on there was called "Underdog"
What instruments do you play?
I actually don't play any instruments. I outsource to my talented collaborators for productions. I want to learn to play piano though.
How do you produce and release your music?
^ & I release independently using DistroKid. After my music gets sent to the clouds, I try and generate as much word of mouth as possible through different kinds of content.
Who are your biggest musical influences?
Some of my biggest musical impacts during adolescence were Childish Gambino, Saba, Tyler the Creator, and Earthgang. I also listen to/gain inspiration from acts like Erykah Badu, Bill Withers, MGMT, and Tame Impala.
In what genre would you describe your music as being?
I've never been 100% sure to be honest. However, I'd personally describe my music as alternative hip-hop. I like to experiment a lot but most of my music has a conscious feel. I like making those "bedroom bops" lol.
Do you write your own songs?
Yes, I love to write! Whether it's a script, song, or story, I'm always down to write creatively.
