PsychCloned - Showtime (Album)
PsychCloned has released a brand new 8 track album titled "Showtime"
We reviewed the opening track, titled "Reach For The Stars" previously, you can check it out here.
The 2nd track on this cinematic album is "Showtime"
It's 6 minutes long, yet it doesn't drag at all! It keeps you engaged and listening, for the whole song. There's a wide variety of styles in this track, which is what PsychCloned continues to show
constantly. It becomes more upbeat towards the end, with traditional drum beats and complex guitar progressions, it truly feels like a majestic national anthem.
After the dramatic end of "Showtime", "Runaway Heist" is introduced with a supressed guitar introduction, that unfolds and opens up with an Indie Rock soundscape throughout, deep classic drum rolls rip through you with funky, fast paced bass riffs. There's some incredible drum solos, that break up the song into different sections, it goes from early 2000's rock, to a Jazz bar in the matter of sections. Towards the end of the track, there's a funky mix of flamenco sounding guitar licks, with bluesy backing instrumentation just to top it off.
The 4th track is "Lunar Eclipse"
Now this, is what you call creativity! I've never heard anything like this before! The track begins with a suspenseful piano intro, and then the guitar is introduced and truly takes center stage, and immediately changes your original expectation of the track, massively. Half way through, there's a short section of tranquillity, and you begin to think that maybe the track is going to calm down, but no! The quietness gives way to an overwhelming section of pure fury and power. Before eventually fading away.
The next song is called "Breaking the Limit"
It's like The Reytons got into heavy rock, on the verge of metal at some points! The funky bass, similar in fashion to Runaway Heist, dances around, keeping the song structured and in shape. It isn't like this forever though, there is some quieter moments, but for the most part, "Breaking the Limit" is a real headbanger!!
The 6th track is "Dreamer"
At first, you wouldn't know why PsychCloned decided to name the track "Dreamer", as it begins with dramatizing, heavy intro, yet why PsychCloned made the decision becomes obvious as it progresses, it turns into a real "dreamy", and atmospheric track. Woodwind instrumentation floats around in the back, adding depth and calmness to the fun song. Yet fast electric riffs soon take the spotlight once again, only for a short while, to allow the Disney-like piano to make it's way to the door.
The piano leads wonderfully into "Floating with the Clouds", which is a perfectly fitting name, it has a delicate, soothing vibe, that radiates around your ears, making you close your eyes and bring you to a whole new world, inside your head. It's full of mental imagery, and really showcases PsychCloned's commitment to his music and the experience it gives the listener.
The finale is titled, "Summer Jam"
This track will be sure to transport you to a Caribbean beach, or to Hawaii with a coconut in your hand, with the afro Caribbean percussion, and wavy, progressive guitar. It's a perfect outro to the album, it leaves you on a major, happy vibe, after some suspenseful, powerful tracks.
