keyth g. EP

Cali based artist releases "keyth g."

The 30 minute EP begins with "Can You Hear The World"

From the get go, you are immediately transported to a calming spanish bar, with the introduction of complex flamenco style guitar licks. Even though the track is 5 minutes long, it never gives a moment of downtime and keeps you intrigued constantly, not only because of the constantly evolving instrumentation, but mainly due to the meaningful lyrics. It's clear that keyth g is a lyrical genius!

The 2nd track is "The Greatest Trick"

The brass instrumentation adds a whole new range of depth to the music. The unique mix of reggae and jazzy styles showcase the artist's musical creativity and ability. The rhythmic lyrics are truly off-the-tongue, and keep you involved, grooving along. The song unfolds throughout, before ending with a powerful vocal performance, leading into the next song, titled

"Southside"

I love the modern feel of "Southside", the deep, complex percussion beat through your chest, amongst the wide variety of instrumentation before a whole mood change, transitioned in with funky, pop feel clean effects. The love driven lyrics keep you smiling and makes the song open to personal interpretation from the listener. It's a real experience.

Next up is "Why Can't You Stay"

Harmonic lyrics float around the wahful instrumentation. It still holds the original feel of keyth g, yet the complex guitar riffs and 60's rock percussion add a whole new feel to the entire EP. Bluesy piano fulfills the track in the background, it's simply action packed, structured and perfect! Going straight into my personal playlist.

The 2nd to last song is "Motivation"

Beginning with a spacious, airy, introduction... your attention is immediately caught, to listen to the upbeat story given to you by the wordplay. The afrobeat drums add traditional senses, and are a huge part of the soundscape. The music created is original and really easy to jam out to. The mixture of ska vibes and bouncy guitar really contrasts with the eerie feel of the start.

The finale is "Fruit Trees"

It begins with the introduction of smooth, clear vocals, amongst the upbeat, funky soundscape that consists of a wide variety of instrumentation, from classic summer vibe acoustic drums, to classic guitar. The melodies in which the vocals follow is almost lullaby like.
As the track progresses, many different styles are introduced, and the clean tones make way into a dreamy ambience of tranquillity, that cinematically unfolds with summer vibe music.
Oozing with a dreamy softness and love, the song represents an emotive lyric to the listener.
