“Couldn't Touch Us (Motherf*cker)” is the latest single
from Miami based artist James Roan,
currently streaming on all music
platforms and the new music video for
the song is out now on Youtube as well. The song will be out on the
next album “Power Forward”
The song is an absolute banger when it
comes to the composition and flow of
the words, but even more so when it
comes to the lyrics. James has managed
to produce the song in a way that it does not feel long or boring but keeps
the interest piqued at all times. The beats are on point, feel fresh and not
overdone. The use of limited instruments and voicings really brings out the
essence of what Roan is trying to tell the listener.
Beijing Baby also brings a different approach and flow to the song giving it more versatility.


The music video in itself, I really liked because of how simple and relatable to
the everyday man it is. It is just the rappers pouring their heart out and having a
good time and eventually trying to bring about a sense of
happiness in togetherness to the viewer. Personally, I also thought that the
video feels fresh too, without any explicit
scenes or unnecessary showboating which is
rare these days. I would highly suggest
checking out the video right now on Youtube.
The thing that really attracted me the most in
the song were the lyrics. The refrain, This is what it be "motherf*cker f*cker” kept me hooked to the music and created a moving vibe. It also tends to keep
the listener engaged and repeat the words to
the tune. The words display a strong message from messed up society and
the issues revolving around it. They talk about poverty instabilities,
and their own faults and downfalls something that needs maximum
discussions from artists and I really respect James Roan and Beijing Baby for going out and
writing about these things. It’s a strong example of individual contribution to
problem-solving and we need more of it. Also, taking control of your life and fighting for your dreams and passions.
It is rather safe to say that James Roan as well as Beijing Baby are going to be some of the great artists to look out for in the next few years and their music could very-well influence
the industry into something far more inclusive and impactful. Age, ethnic
background and gender won’t be any barriers to his reach and would
