Delight - Stars EP
Texas based artist "Delight" releases "Stars" (EP)
The full BeatTape begins with a nostalgic/hiphop soundscape, ranging from deep percussion to the funky sound effects, adding depth to the EP, and showcasing the creativity of Delight.
The backbeats are complex, intriguing, and they never fail give way to some incredible, tranquil sections, layered over the top with spoken vocal breaks to cleverly chop up the genre changes. It seems to take inspiration from many genres, including nostalgic hiphop, modern drill and rap.
The rhythm of each track has a groove so strong it cements itself in your bones forcing you to move alongside its infectious sound.
It's action packed full of reverse effects and scratching effects, which is something not found very often in the modern world drowned out with pop and tiktok songs.
Towards the end of the EP, a chill, bluesy, vibe contains a soft mellowness until the end. It's a record that still packs a fulfilling, cinematic punch, whilst remaining to keep an experimental vibe throughout.
The production plays a large integral part of the EP, the way tracks flow into each other makes the entire mix feel smooth on a whole other level. Most music that is released today has a respectable level of production but to get a release like "Stars" with aesthetically pleasing styles, full of originality and individuality, is truly a real treat.
The energy radiated through the ever changing BeatTape is truly refreshing and distinctive.
