MIHIR - Sweet Lies feat. Rachel Philipp

"Sweet Lies" opens with a sombre, yet powerful introduction, the vocals are stunning, they're atmospheric, clear and it suits the backing cresending instrumentation perfectly.

Forming an emotional bond with a song is so vital for me when heading blind into a new review, especially in this instance, where the love driven lyrical content is so direct and affronting of a past relationship.

Inspired by a modern pop soundscape, this pop anthem is an easy listening filled with confidence and heart on sleeve lyricism. The song is fueled with passion and playful melodies. It's relatively simplistic whilst staying strong. It's a whirlwind adventure of emotions straight from the heart.

The song is full of complex styles, the gentle but distinctive voice always takes centre stage, yet not too overpowering as to allow the instrumentation to have some time under the spotlight.

The vibrant production emphasises the sense of weightlessness in the sound, providing a cloud for atop the floaty vocals can sit.
