Stefano Pesapane - Directions

Netherlands based Stefano Pesapane releases 'Directions'

When reviewing a unique track that takes elements from EDM styles, as well as other more traditional music styles, there are quite a few key elements to consider. These include the production quality, the arrangement of the track, the melody and instrumentation, and the overall vibe and energy of the song. 'Directions' hits the spot in every element imaginable.

First and foremost, the production quality of the track is truly top-notch. The sound of each part of the soundscape is crisp, clear, and well-balanced, with each element of the song - from the synth bassline and drum beat to the ambient, jazzy, wind instrumentation towards the end - sitting perfectly in the mix.

The arrangement of the track is crucial. A good EDM song has a strong sense of structure, with clear sections that build and release tension in a satisfying way. Directions definitely achieves this with the shifts in instrumentation that's used in different sections, and the well thought out structure is prominent especially in the cinematic build-up of the atmosphere from the intro to the ending.

Stefano does a great job at incorporating a range of electronic sounds and effects that help to create a unique sonic landscape, as well as including the aforementioned wind instrumentation which brings the track into a whole new never seen before genre.

Whilst the track is energetic, uplifting, and inspiring, with a driving beat that gets listeners moving and grooving on the dancefloor. I do feel like the track could benefit from short vocal hooks just to add an extra edge to the track.

Definitely be sure to give it a listen for yourself down below, I'm sure you'll hear this track on rotation on the night-time jazz radio near you!
