MELØ - King of Nothing

MELØ - an artist raised on the streets of Detroit, has released a single titled "King of Nothing" - Bringing together a whole variety of different genres.

With a refusal to adhere to genre stereotypes, in this track the artist takes his ques from a wealth of different bands through the ages, resulting in his own inherently timeless brand that harbours echoes from bands such as Kasabian, or even The Las.

The track seems to float on a bed straight from an 80's action movie, in the incredibly dynamic soundscape echoing through the production. It's a sense of nostalgia that relishes in it's spaciousness, and strong vocal delivery of the brainchild, MELØ.

Another thing that I appreciate about "King of Nothing" is the production quality. The song is expertly mixed and mastered, with each unique instrument including wind/synth instrumentation, and vocal track given the perfect amount of space in the mix. The light guitar riff in particular, sound fantastic, with a gentle distorted tone that perfectly suits the cinematic nature of the song. The drums are also quite impressive, with a pounding, ever changing beat that propels the song forward throughout. The aforementioned synth/electronic aspects add a uniqueness that makes the song stand out to anything you've heard before.

King of Nothing is an excellent song that perfectly encapsulates the energy and attitude of Kasabian. It's a song that you can't help but move to, with a memorable chorus and catchy guitar riffs that stick in your head long after the song is over. The lyrics are empowering and inspiring, making it a great anthem for anyone who wants to take control of their life and make a difference.
