Carl Anderson announces the release of a new album - "Missouri Breaks"
Vermont, USA based studio artist "Carl Anderson" is releasing his brand new 8 track album on all streaming platforms, titled "Missouri Breaks" on October 1st.
The opening track is titled "UFO"
A truly action packed piece of art, this fulfilling track is THE perfect introduction to a unique rock inspired album. The strong, stable, well thought out structure is prominent throughout, whilst also keeping a real, live, immersive nature upheld constantly. The complex, fast paced electric riffs and prolonged sections add suspense to the soundscape and vibe, intriguing the listener and ensuring they are engaged and waiting to hear what's to come. The narrative vocals showcased in several points ensure the track feels pictorial.
The 2nd track is titled "The Capsule"
Beginning with the cresendo of an eerie, cinematic delay effect, the track immediately draws you in, and bursts with creativity, and originality. Instrumentally, the track is very technical, and complex. It's not too overwhelming, but each element fits together like a puzzle to create the final masterpiece it is. The thumping percussion and humorous, yet emotional storyline presented by the narrator adds that little bit of spice that completes the mix.
The 3rd track is titled "Blue Wild Angel"
The sounds have clear roots in classic heavy rock/metal, particularly the ever present sparkling heavy riff which is unrelenting throughout. The real genius in the sound, though, is how they have taken this and wrapped it in a distinctly punk sound, and with it created a mini modern twist. Building to a crescendo, dropping out, and building again multiple times; it has a real sense of well thought structure, whilst simultaneously maintaining the rawness that gives it so much.
4. "Machina"
The mood radiated by this song feels particularly complex, and at times leaves you wondering what to pigeon hole Carl's sound as, but there’s no time or need to, as you will continue to marvel at it for what it brings you to. Although it's a more laid back overall track than the other parts of the album, it leaves you longing for more music from the artist, and more stories. It carries a wide variety of styles that were showcased in previous songs, such as subtle hints to the backing synths , and Queen style tranquil sections. It changes constantly, with new sections changing the entire vibe, especially towards the 2nd half of the track, where the track unfolds and twists, before a quiet fade leading into the next track:
5. "The Devil's Jazz"
At nearly 10 minutes long, the track can sometimes feel a little repetitive, however this is balanced out by the aforementioned suspense that keeps the listener doing what the ultimate goal is, listening. In a similar fashion to "Machina", the track is somewhat more laid back, and easy to listen to. The introduction of brass instruments add a jazzy, bluesy feel, which is refreshing in the current world drowned out with modern pop. It's incredibly awe-inspiring and interactive, it's like a short film, in music.
The 6th track is titled "Rivets"
"Rivets" is an ever changing, progressive track, seeming to take inspiration from not only metal, but also modern indie rock, in certain sections, it's unlike anything you've ever heard, and manages to fit so much into just 3 and a half minutes. It goes from ferocious to dreamy in the matter of seconds, ensuring the listener never loses interest. It never gives any moments of downtime.
The 2nd to last track is titled "01 07 11"
This emotional, smooth, soft track begins with the accompaniment of string instrumentation alongside an easy listening, groovy beat. The track is almost like a short interlude, to give you a lull in the intensity, before leading into the finale:
"Missouri Breaks"
The chest thumping drums, first class production, and an intense soundscape sounding like something from a video game or movie backing track all conjure together to bring this 8 track album to a integral close. It feels almost haunting, and overtakes each of your senses, by capturing your emotions and soul into the music and storyline. The end leaves you with an almost cliffhanger like feel, leaving you urging to hear more from this incredible artist.
