Moan Barrow - Been Here Before

Illinois artist "Moan Barrow" releases a brand new single titled "Been Here Before", the band is fictitious, all the music is created by Brian Jones. Quite literally a very talented one-man band!

The ambient 3 minute track begins with a calming, slow paced guitar riff, that builds throughout with the accompaniment of deep percussion and what sounds like cinematic string instrumentation. The vocal introduction is carried out well, with a dramatic change in style and vibe.

The track seems to take influence from early 2000's  Indie Rock bands, with the funky, complex guitar riffs and sections of fuzzy guitar. Soft, easy-going verses draw you in, before the soundscape bursts with emotion and ferocity. A structured roller coaster of classic rock seems to be what he is trying to achieve, whilst throwing in some modern elements, especially in the subtle vocal effects.

It never gives a moment of downtime and continues to push the listener to an upbeat sensory overload in the best ways at several points, without overwhelming them.

Although the track is arguably quite short, it still manages to include many elements and styles, that are full of originality and creativity, whilst keeping a classic rock feel.
