Nolan - Antiquitech

Michigan based artist "Nolan" has released a new ambient album titled "Antiquitech"

Music Video For Opening track "Past Reset" here

An intense, powerful, modern beat hits hard with its unique sounds, and sells an immediate sense of grandeur with everything layered on top of that. It’s within this beat of rhythmic paced drums and uber stylised electronic flourishes that the album becomes a powerful compilation of tracks. There’s a lot of life and power within the song alone, as drums break out and the synth grows in intensity and range to a final crescendo.

Not following the current mainstream sound of the world, this unique conjure is not for the faint-hearted. If you’re into listening to music that has an experimental nature, this will be right up your street.

It's a record which packs a punch whilst simultaneously maintaining a mellowness throughout. The soft twinkle of synth sounds hum around the echoing vocals to give off a real floatiness to the music, but the added energy of the drums and nostalgic hiphop style sounds take it to a place where it implores you to headbop along as it continues to sway.

Nolan has played around with all the intricate parts that make up his complex sound, and now under this new piece of art he's obviously ready to release it to the world, and this track is undeniably an impressive start. It's topped up with the experimentalism and grunge of one who are intriguing and prominent, and whatever is to come next will almost surely be just as impressive, if not better.

One track that really caught my attention has to be Atlantean, it has one of the most unique instrumental styles I've ever heard. It also leads perfectly into "Nordic Tyme" - with the structured, complex, action packed backing beat. It's full of originality and creativity... A great portfolio track for Nolan.

The album is great musically, but it's message and drive is even more engaging! Inspired by the mysteries of US history, and themes of 'Past Resets' and attempting to stitch them together. The album shows the artists willingness to experiment with many different styles and genres, making an almost Alien feel, dystopian, dreamy blend.

The final track is a clever mix of the aforementioned nostalgic hiphop styles and modern music... The off the tongue lyrics in Antiquitech add so much depth and meaning to the lyrics.
