Area & the Stolen Moon - Outsider in Perpetual Motion

"Arda G, the central figure of Arda & The Stolen Moon, is an Armenian-Cypriot singer-songwriter from the Indie-folj school whose material cuts right to the heart of her life and loves. Her vocals are earnest and the band's performance dramatic when necessary." - Norman Records

Today I will be reviewing Arda & The Stolen Moon's new 9 track album, "Outsider In Perpetual Motion"

The first action packed track is "Emotional Hacking".

This engaging track features incredible guitar and drum sections, like a rollercoaster of talented rock musicians topped with Arda's tranquil but seemingly powerful vocals.

Talking about how normal people can't keep up with the top celebrities even when they try as hard as they can, It could be relatable to many listeners.

Towards the end of "Emotional Hacking", the track becomes more experimental and ambient, and harmonic vocals are introduced.

The next track "The Duke Of Icicle" (Ft. Stefanos Georgiades) begins with a tranquil upbeat feel.
Arda's calming vocals eventually cresend with the instrumentation to introduce a harmonic, genuinely beautiful verse.

The lyrics are rhythmic and this song gives off immense summer vibes, Stefanos' implanted vocals give a good touch to this song.

Next up is 'Signals' Ft. Sarah Fenwick & Nama.

This song carries the same vibe throughout the song, however it is really set apart from the rest of the tracks on this album. This is really unique.

The songwriting is very clever and includes some metaphors that force the listener to analyse the song and become more attached.

The whispered messages engage the listener immensely.

4. "Twenty63" this is also a unique track, including brass instrumental interludes.
Talking about the life of someone living in the future, this really allows the imagination of the listener to flourish!

"Virtual coffee" Don't give any ideas to Elon Musk! Haha

5. "Wishing"
This track begins with a magical and haunting feel.

The minor key changes in the back could give goosebumps to a listener.
The vocals are very elemental and tranquil. They also feel transparent as if they are floating around the back of your head.
This is a new style of calming music yet to be discovered!

This track eventually becomes increasingly heavy and more commercialised, feeling somehow 'Alien'.. You will be lost in a wavey trance....

"The Pebble In My Shoe" is one of the most experimental tracks in this album. Setting it aside from the commerical music of the modern world.
It features many different instruments and harmonic backing vocals.
This also leads perfectly into the next track "Upset The Apple Part"
-
The contrast between the ending of "The Pebble In My Shoe" and the beginning "Upset The Apple Cart" is something that will really wake you up.
The Britpop influence in this track is very obvious and it is a great showcase of the different styles Arda and The Stolen Moon use.

The acoustic feel track "Monkeys" is really uplifting and humorous.
The fact paced lyrics are incredibly funny and confusing!
It's a great feel though.

The introduction of string instruments is very intriguing and is well executed.

The final song "Fools & A Molina Moon" is a somber tranquil track.
The medieval church feel is incredibly unique and contrasts with craze at the introduction of Electric guitar solos!

It feels like something out of early, experimental Queen. Always bringing something new with each track. This will leave fans and listeners eager to hear more!!
